今日の夕立、涼しくなったねー!
今日もね
おーちゃん家のお茶会だったの。
今日は真夏の趣向でした。
(Today was another tea-ceremony at O-chan's house. Today was mid-summer style.)

七夕の季節ということで金の色紙をあしらったお水指(みずさし)には、
涼しげに桑の葉をかぶせて葉蓋点前。
(For the Star Festival season, the "mizu-sashi" (cold water pot) was decorated with gold paper, and a mulberry-leaf cover was used to give it a refreshing feel. This is called "Leaf-lid Tea Service.")
お棗(なつめ)は曙(あけぼの)棗。
お菓子は加古川いづみ屋の早瀬の鮎とJennの京みやげの豆板、
お水菓子はすいか。
(The "natsume" -powdered green tea holder- was an "Akebono Natsume." The tea-snacks were sweetfish shaped desserts from a store called "Izumi" in Kakogawa, adzuki bean candies that Jenn brought back from Kyoto, and juicy watermelon.)

床のお軸は雷さまをもじって「くわばら々」。
(The scroll in the alcove was a picture of the thunder god with the words, "Ahh, forgive me forgive me!")

お花はおーちゃん家のお庭のはまぼう。
(The flowers were from O-chan's garden and are called "Hamabou.")

ランチは、いただいたおすしと、あなごごはん。
なめこの赤だしとおつけものもつけて。
ごちそうさまーー!!
(For lunch we were treated to sushi, salt-water eel rice, mushroom red-miso, and pickles. Yumm!!)
